Baptism

Parents who wish their child to be baptized should be registered members of Sacred Heart. Attendance at a one-hour Baptismal preparation class, held every month, is required. Registration is required and must be done in person at the parish office. Parents need to contact the parish office ,(912)-537-7709,to make arrangements for the Baptism. Baptisms are celebrated on Saturday evenings or Sundays on the 3rd Sunday of the month.

Bautizos 

Padres quien desean que su hijo sea bautizado deben ser miembros registrados de Sagrado Corazón. Una clase de una hora de preparación Bautismales es ofrecida una vez al mes y requerida. Registración es requerida y debe ser hecho en person en la oficina parroquial.Padres deben contactar la oficina parroquial, (912)-537-7709, para hacer arreglos sobre el bautismo.Bautizo son celebrados los Sábados (tarde) o los Domingos  el 3o Domingo del mes.

First Reconciliation

The sacrament of First Reconciliation, or Penance, is celebrated in the second grade. Children must be baptized. Students are catechized for reception of the sacrament during religion and Sunday School classes. Special classes are available for older students.

First Eucharist

Students receive First Eucharist, or Holy Communion, in the second grade after having made their First Reconciliation, usually in May. Students are catechized for this sacrament during their religion and Sunday School classes. Special classes are available for older students.

Confirmation

Confirmation is celebrated in the eighth grade. Students must complete a course of study, perform service hours and attend a retreat. High school students preparing for this sacrament are expected to be active participants in both Youth Group and Bible Study. A sponsor is required; must be 16 years of age, confirmed and have received Holy Eucharist.

Marriage

Any couple wishing to be married at Sacred Heart must notify the priests at least six months in advance of the desired wedding day. Couples are required to have several meetings with a priest; complete and review a pre-marriage inventory called FOCCUS; participate in a marriage preparation program; and provide the necessary documents for marriage. At the initial visit, the priest can place a tentative wedding date on the parish calendar.

Anointing of the Sick

Contact the Parish Office to arrange for a priest to anoint any Catholic in need of this sacrament of healing.

Holy Orders

The Sacrament of Holy Orders is the continuation of Christ's priesthood, which He bestowed upon His apostles; thus, the Catechism of the Catholic Church refers to the Sacrament of Holy Orders as "the sacrament of apostolic ministry."
